The crime took place on Saturday night, around 11.30 pm, After the PUDA official had a dispute over a car`s parking with his neighbour Rohit Khanna.
The accused identified as Manjit Singh, 53, works as a superintendent with the Punjab Urban Planning and Development Authority (PUDA). according to the police.

On Saturday night, around 11.30 pm, he had a dispute over a car`s parking with his neighbour Rohit Kannna. As the altercation escalated, kana reached the Sohana police station to lodge a police complaint. While the compliment was at the police station, an enraged Singh allegedly fired gunshots in the air with his licensed revolver in the normally peaceful residential street, when this incident happened all the neighbours and Khanna`s family were shocked. Sohana police on Sunday booked a superintendent posted in the Punjab Urban Development Authority (PUDA) for allegedly firing at his neighbour over a car parking issue. Police officials are also probing a complaint lodged by the accused against the victim.
According to the information that police received on Saturday night at around 11 pm, Manjeet Singh, who is posted in PUDA as a superintendent, allegedly fired three shots at his neighbour Rohit. After this, the complaint Rohit, alleged that Manjeet used to park his car in the area where Rohit is entitled to park his vehicle. Rohit further said that the accused again parked his vehicle in his parking area on Saturday following which he went to his home to request him to park his vehicle at some other place.
Rohit alleged that He went to his home to request him when he asked Manjeet to shift his vehicle to another place. But he denied he got angry and took his pistol and Manjeet fired three gunshots at him. The complainant added that he survived the bullets, but suffered an injury with a weapon-like stick on his head.
Meanwhile, The police said that they recovered three empty bullet shells from the spot and booked Manjeet under the Arms Act. When police gave the pistol to check whether Manjeet had the pistol license or not The police Officials said that Manjeet`s pistol was licensed in his name. Meanwhile, police also received a complaint from Manjeet against Rohit. In his complaint, Manjeet said that he came to his home first and argued with him and He fired in self-defence.
The police officials of Sohana said that they were probing Manjeet`s complaint too and investigating the matter on both sides and if anything comes out against Rohit Khanna, they will lodge the FIR against him as well as Manjeet.
